Every morning throughout Summerfest 2026, we’ll deliver a guide that covers the day’s entertainment and how you can get in the gate free of charge. This is where you’ll find info about the AmFam Amp headliners, eclectic picks from our knowledgeable staff and the music lineup for the day (see the full 2026 Summerfest lineup here).
Today at the AmFam Amp
Alex Warren w/Noah Cyrus, 7 p.m.
Anyone who caught Warren’s early social-media days might be surprised with where he finds himself these days — although he wouldn’t be. Warren got his first Fender guitar from his dad at the age of 5 and, after both parents’ relatively early deaths, used music as an outlet for his pain and anxiety.
Those efforts eventually led to a breakout 2025 for Warren, who released double album You’ll Be Alright, Kid, and was nominated for Best New Artist at the Grammys. He kicked off his “Little Orphan Alex Live” tour this past April and will share new album Wildchild on Aug. 28.
Radio Milwaukee staff pick #1
Spoon @ Generac Power Stage, 9:30 p.m.
Spongebob and Patrick. Macaroni & Cheese. Campfires and ghost stories. Much like those superfun pairings, Summerfest has found its perfect Friday night partner in rock ‘n’ roll, as Spoon headlines the Generac Power Stage.
Pulling from 30+ years of catchy tunes and just enough cool to make you wanna sing along, the Austin-based band will forever bring rock ‘n’ roll swagger to their live shows. Hot off their June tour dates with The Beths, you can bet Spoon are just getting warmed up and will deliver a super-solid show full of hits from their extensive catalog.
You’ll find no underdogs here. Just bring your hot thoughts and turn your camera on cause that’s the way we get by.

Radio Milwaukee staff pick #2
St. Paul & The Broken Bones @ Uline Warehouse, 7:30 p.m.
The first time I ever heard St. Paul & The Broken Bones, I legit thought I was listening to some well-produced B-side to an Otis Redding album. I was wrong. It was the powerful voice of singer Paul Janeway, who (spoiler alert) looks nothing like the old soul singers he sounds like.
This Alabama band’s debut album, Half the City, pulled me into their 2014 take on a seasoned genre, but it’s their showmanship and energy that brings me to their shows. When I saw them at the Pabst Theater in 2023, there were elaborate costume changes featuring glittery outfits and audience participation that included the band going into the crowd. I’m not sure if the July heat will deter the elaborate costume-age, but I can almost promise they’ll still deliver quite the show!

Radio Milwaukee staff pick #3
The Heavy Heavy @ Aurora Pavilion, 5:45 p.m.
This folky rock band formed in 2019 by childhood friends Will Turner and Georgie Fuller create retro-ish, Cali-style harmonies that are full of psych and sunshine. 88Nine first fell in love with the English duo in 2022 via their song “Go Down River” from debut album Life and Life Only. Then they wowed us again with sad-but-sweet 2024 single “Happiness.” If you’re into that ’60s/’70s Laurel Canyon sound, this one’s for you.
RIYL: The Band, The Mamas & The Papas, Father John Misty, Fleetwood Mac.
