Hop Summer Nights
The Hop Streetcar
Aug. 30 | 4-6 p.m.
When you jump on The Hop this Sunday, you can enjoy cool live jazz and free “hopsicles” from local favorite Pete’s Pops (while supplies last), plus get one more chance to enter the “Ride. Chill. Win.” contest.
Expert tip: While there are three F-Line streetcars in service on Sundays, only one will host Hop Summer Nights. Just download the Transloc real-time app, and an alert will let you know which streetcar features the free popsicles and jazz. You can also look for Hop Summer Nights decals in the windows of the featured streetcar.

Mayor’s Back To School Bike Ride
Riverside Park
Aug. 29 | 10-11:30 a.m.
Join Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson for a fun ride through the city’s East Side. Gather at 10 a.m. near the Riverside Park playground, where the Wisconsin Bike Fed will host a quick skills workshop for kids (recommended for ages 8-12). Then the major will lead a slow-roll journey on a four-mile loop through the neighborhood. If you can’t bring your own bike, a limited number of Bublr e-bikes will be available for use.
Take It Outside Day: Canoeing
Urban Ecology Center | Riverside Park
Aug. 29 | 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
Show up anytime during the event for a day of learning and laughing on the Milwaukee River. Experienced instructors will host three learning stations: common canoe strokes and movements, proper life jacket fitting, and a 20-30 minute introductory experience paddling on the water. This event is for ages 5+, and no experience is necessary.
Kids Cheer Free with the Brewers
American Family Field
Aug. 30
It’s the last Sunday of the summer and the final chance to cheer on the Brewers for free! Kids 14 and under can attend the game against the Texas Rangers for free with the purchase of an adult Terrace Level ticket. Max of four free child tickets per account/email, and the offer isn’t available on the day of the game, so make sure to get your seats online ahead of time.

Combining the raw energy and passion of hip-hop with the beautiful sounds of orchestral accompaniment, this show features a party-rocking DJ, a soul-stirring female vocalist, a fire-breathing MC and more!
K-Pop Dance Party in The Yard

Groove alongside the Kid Boogie Down crew during a family-friendly dance party packed with K-Pop music, feel-good energy, bubbles, music videos and more. This is a fully family-friendly event, and parents or guardians are required to remain with their children throughout. So join the fun, hit the dance floor, and experience the magic together!

West Bend Germanfest

It’s almost Oktoberfest season, and West Bend is getting into the spirit with a four-day heritage celebration featuring a biergarten, live music, sheepshead and bags tournaments, and authentic German food. Plus, there’s a dedicated Kinderzone (kid zone) with face painting, German bingo, German songs, and the chance to make your own shadow box with Milwaukee power tools.
MKE’s Biggest Free Library
Kosciuszko Community Center
Aug. 28 | 4-7 p.m.
It’s a free afternoon of fun, learning and community. Enjoy thousands of free books for all ages, face painting and family activities, plus you can connect with local leaders and community resource tables, and grab dinner from the onsite food truck.
Summer movies
- Lake Park (Aug. 28) — Watch Major League at the Summer Stage starting at 7:30 p.m.
- Sussex (Aug. 28) — Zootopia 2 starts at 8 p.m., but get there early to grab a seat and concessions by SAS Club (including a fish fry) starting at 5 p.m.
- Greendale (Aug. 29) — Shrek begins at dusk, and Gift of Wings will have hot food and beverages for sale, as well as popcorn for only $1.
- Greenfield (Aug. 29) — Sketch begins at dusk at The AMP in Konkel Park.
