This year, we've had the privilege of hosting several extraordinary acts on In the Mix, our Saturday night show broadcast on the airwaves of Radio Milwaukee stations 88Nine and HYFIN. Some of these artists have delivered unforgettable mixes that I didn't want you to miss. Consider this your chance to relive these moments.
Kicking things off is Django Django, a UK quartet hailing from the heart of London. Their set was nothing short of distinctive and captivating, seamlessly bridging different worlds of music and old-school house tracks.
Next on our list is Rahill, an artist of remarkable versatility celebrated for her ability to traverse a multitude of musico-poetic traditions. Her musical selections added a unique and artistic touch to the show, leaving a lasting impression.
Last, but certainly not least, we couldn't overlook powerhouse producer and DJ Jayda G, a Grammy-nominated musician in her own right. This year, she released Guy, her most intimate project to date. The 30-minute mini set she put together for In the Mix was a fiery fusion of funk vibes, her own masterpieces and classic house records that set the airwaves ablaze. I had the pleasure of rounding out the rest of the hour with some of the hottest tracks out today.
These three luminaries — representing the electronic, world and indie-music scenes — took our audience on an enchanting odyssey through a diverse array of genres. They effortlessly navigated old-school house, disco and global vibes, creating an electrifying and innovative experience that breathed life into the show, leaving our audience (and this host) in absolute awe.
These amazing mixes will forever be etched in our memories thanks to the extraordinary musical journey crafted by all artists/producers/DJs on our show. Don't forget to dive into the archived sets, and remember to join us from 9 p.m. to midnight every Saturday on 88Nine and HYFIN to keep the groove going with mixes from myself, our resident DJs and more international talent.
