Among the many things we do at the station, curating fresh adds for the 88Nine playlist is always a highlight of mine. We sift through numerous tracks every week, and the challenge lies in selecting only a handful. This week's batch was particularly challenging — so the team just went ahead and added 13 remarkable songs to join the playlist.
Narrowing down my personal favorite was no easy feat, either, given the standout qualities of tracks like Salt Cathedral's "Terminal Woes" and Brittany Howard's "Prove It To You." I ended up going with a single from Justice's eagerly anticipated fourth album, Hyperdrama, featuring a collaboration with Tame Impala.
As a devoted fan of French house music, embracing the excitement of Justice's return after a six-year hiatus was irresistible. "One Night/All Night" encapsulates the smooth, guitar-heavy vibe, inviting listeners on a hazy disco journey in which Kevin Parker's vocals meld seamlessly with Justice's signature classic, rock-infused grooves.
Anticipation for Hyperdrama is at its peak, making it my most awaited project of 2024. Don't miss the accompanying video for the new single; it's an experience worth savoring.
