The Contenders, Vol. 18: Disiniblud, Anamanaguchi

Disiniblud's "Give-upping" is one of the songs we can't stop playing this week.
Allegra Messina
Disiniblud's "Give-upping" is one of the songs we can't stop playing this week.

We update our running list of the year's best songs with a bunch of glitched-out ear candy, raging rock and tracks that seek real, human connections in an increasingly artificial landscape. This includes the wondrous new sounds of Disiniblud (pronounced Disney Blood), an emerging New York duo known as ear, a surprise turn for the chiptune band Anamanaguchi and more.

NPR Music's Hazel Cills joins host Robin Hilton on this episode, which also includes our weekly reset: a day at the county fair.
