Every week, the State of Sound podcast welcomes an artist from our monthly concert series into the studio to go deep on one of their songs. For more info on the live show, including how to get tickets, visit the event page.

Milwaukee’s Wire & Nail is a Saturday night in a Northwoods Tavern: longnecks and shooters, darts and pool, romance and good times.

Equal parts honky tonk and rock ‘n’ roll, Wire & Nail have that barroom sound that’s worn in and dance floor ready. I spoke with the band’s lead guitarist and vocalist Phil Bregant about the band’s song “Devil in Angel Wings,” the release of which they’ll celebrate (along with an accompanying music video) at The Cooperage this Friday, May 3.

To hear the conversation and part of Wire & Nail’s State of Sound set, find us on your preferred podcast platform or use the player at the top of the page. While you listen, head over to the State of Sound event page and grab tickets to our next live show on May the Fourth (be with you) featuring Micah Emrich, Klan 414, Blacktop and Jacob Slade.
