Every week, the State of Sound podcast welcomes an artist from our monthly concert series into the studio to go deep on one of their songs. Our live shows are done for the year, but we’ll be back with more of Wisconsin’s best musicians in 2025.
This week’s guest, Sean Lehner of Fuzzysurf, joined us for 88Nine’s State of Sound lineup in October. Known for blending jangly guitars, bouncy keyboards and tight harmonies, Fuzzysurf’s songs are peppered with hooks and witty lyrics that explore themes of modern life, love and the occasional societal critique (all without taking anything too seriously).
I talked with Lehner about the inspiration behind Fuzzysurf’s song “Doghouse” — a wry look at that crazy little thing called love. To hear the conversation and part of Fuzzysurf’s State of Sound set, hit the “Listen” button at the top of the page or find us on your podcast app of choice.
