Every Saturday night, In the Mix sets the vibe as DJ Kenny Perez mixes up the hottest sounds from the electronic dance music scene, bringing to the forefront some of Milwaukee's most talented DJs and producers.
This installment of In the Mix delivers a fresh batch of new music from the legendary Goldie, the powerhouse Bonobo and Canadian born Gayance, plus other eclectic vibes. It was also a pleasure to include a brand new mix inspired by the Third Ward Moon Festival that rose over Milwaukee the weekend of Aug. 7-9.
One of the highlights for me was hearing Goldie’s new single, “Jungle Daze,” out now on London Records. The track featuring jazz vocalist and longtime collaborator Natalie Williams blends Goldie’s signature jungle / drum-and-bass sound with a big cinematic feel. It’s both a look back at the roots of the culture and a reminder that Goldie is still pushing forward as an artist.
