Every Saturday night, In the Mix sets the vibe as DJ Kenny Perez mixes up the hottest sounds from the electronic dance music scene, bringing to the forefront some of Milwaukee's most talented DJs and producers.
Nine years of In the Mix, and we’re still keeping the party going! None of this would be possible without the love and support of our music community and YOU, our listeners who have been locked in with us every Saturday night.
With Radio Milwaukee's fall membershipship drive in full swing at the time of this episode, I decided to celebrate with some serious ’90s nostalgia by digging into the creates for gems like Armand Van Helden's "You Don't Even Know Me" featuring Duane Harden and Barbara Tucker's "I Get Lifted." These are the tracks that helped define an era when house music was carving out its own lane alongside the massive explosion of hip-hop in the ’90s.
But we didn't stop there! You’ll also hear a very special guest mix from legendary DJ and producer Lee Burridge, who recently dropped Faze, his first EP in more than five years. Burridge brought his signature sound to the show, taking us on a musical journey that reminds us why he's such an influential force in electronic music. And, of course, I had to jump behind the decks and bless the airwaves with a mix of my own!
Listen to the full episode and, while you're vibing, remember that independent, community-powered radio doesn't happen without YOU.
