Before the drop of their new album, Mount Zero, Swapmeet shared one final single titled “Bonny” — a track in which fuzzy and sweet guitar rock shines through like sunshine on choppy ocean waves, while the band’s laconic indie prowess seems effortless as always.
The record’s name is a nod to touring life, with the Australian quartet noting that “Mount Zero is a place you pass but never go. It became a symbol for people we’d see but never meet. When you’re always in a different city and trying new things, there are a lot of experiences you observe but never get to fully explore.”
You can, however, get all the way into Mount Zero, which is out now on Winspear Records. Swampmeet themselves will be in the States soon, and you can catch them nearby at Schubas Tavern in Chicago on Oct. 14.
