From São Paulo, Brazil, psych-pop outfit Tagua Tagua return with more of their dazzling flow that points to its roots and inspiration from the 1970s. Many 88Nine listeners will remember the band’s Studio Milwaukee Session from last summer, following the release of their 2025 album, Raio.
The group’s newest groove is saturated with authentic Brazilian warmth, drawing inspiration from icons like Jorge Ben. “‘Fez a Minha Onda Bater' evokes that feeling of driving down an empty road towards the sunset,” frontman Felipe Puperi shared. “The lyrics speak of the moment when something truly wonderful happens and that feeling takes over you.”
