Parisian-born, London-based band Spanish Horses are led by none other than the son of Jarvis Cocker of Pulp. And having Albert Cocker on guitar just might lend a little to what has Spanish Horses sounding so fully realized on debut single “Hey Man (Hey Man!)”
The song was built from a “lightbulb moment” illuminated by a simple voice memo from Cocker and bassist Victor Michee. As the band shared, “I think it’s really flipped a switch for us; this song found our sound. It came as an apparition, a divine intervention, a eureka moment!”
The track is an amalgamation of breezy, Americana-tinged guitars — a loose and long-haired groove that promises good things to come.
