Melbourne-based indie-folk artist Stella Dunai recently shared her propulsively psych-y new single “Move on!” that anchors itself around rapid-fire drum hits, fingerpicked guitar and Dunai’s warbly, yodel of a voice. She noted of the song’s intrinsic relatability (which adds yet another winning layer), "It's a silly, chaotic ode to making friends and connections as an adult.”
Despite its barreling tempo, the track has a distinctly melancholy undertone yet hits in a sparkling way. I love the grittier elements and the natural juxtaposition of Dunai’s voice. It’s what initially drew me to her sound and just might get you as well, especially if you’re a fan of Big Thief and Laura Marling.
