For this week's Urban Spelunking, we're getting personal.
This episode takes us to the Historic South Side to St. Martini Lutheran Church at Cesar Chavez Dr. and Orchard St. The 1887 church is a typical Milwaukee specimen, a German Lutheran church built by early Milwaukee settlers. But the history within has a family connection to OnMilwaukee's Bobby Tanzilo.
His family worshiped there for generations, just steps away from their original house which still stands today.
Bobby takes us inside the church and explains his familial ties to the congregation -- proof that sometimes the most meaningful histories are those lesser-known stories of family and tradition.
