Youth dancers to rep Milwaukee at national competition

A local group of dancers is headed to Los Angeles to represent Milwaukee in a national dance competition.

And they're all under the age of 18.

15 dancers from the Boys & Girls Clubs will compete in the annual Monsters of Hip Hop Unleashed contest. They'll be judged by choreographers who have worked with Britney Spears, Ne-Yo and Justin Bieber, just to name a few.

The group took second place in regionals earlier this year, held in Chicago, and now they're gearing up for their trip to L.A. July 23-30.

They've been working with Milwaukee native Cedric Gardner, a nationally recognized dancer and choreographer, who has spent countless hours fine tuning the company's routine.

What does he say is most inspiring about the students?  What do the dancers say about him?

If you'd like to support the fundraising effort to send the kids to L.A., check out the dancers' Go Fund Me Page.  The company is trying to raise $25,000 to cover the cost of the trip.
