Penfield Montessori Academy accepting new students

A Milwaukee organization serving kids and families turns 50 this year, and it's the same year it launched a major expansion of its mission.
Penfield Children's Center, located near 26th and Wells St., opened its new Penfield Montessori Academy last school year near 24th and Vliet St., just a few blocks away from its original location. It plans to incrementally expand every year, eventually offering preschool to eighth grade by the year 2024.

The children's center will continue to operate in tandem with the school, with trained therapists providing speech, physical and occupational therapies for children who need specialized care.

Both locations will continue to serve students with special needs -- inside the same classrooms -- alongside its body of typically-developing students.

Services at both Penfield sites are offered at no cost through a combination of public and private funding.
