Six Milwaukee architecture firms have released concepts for 40 acres of underused land in the Menomonee Valley.

The plans were developed during an intensive charette (architecture speak for a design challenge) led by Menomonee Valley Partners, the City of Milwaukee and UWM's School of Architecture and Urban Planning's Community Design Solutions.
Potential developments include extending the Riverwalk, new restaurants and retail, new roads and additional green space.
OnMilwaukee's Bobby Tanzilo visited the sites for this week's Urban Spelunking.
He writes that each architecture firm "considered a site and drew on research and focus groups to hatch innovative concepts for the underutilized sites, including some right on the edge of downtown, as part of the Menomonee Valley 2.0 Plan."
