Talk about a perfect location!
A former passenger railroad station on Barclay and National Ave. has been home to Milwaukee model train enthusiasts since 1936.
We go inside this week on Urban Spelunking.
If you have passed underneath the National Ave. bridge, just east of Water St., you may not have even noticed the building embedded into the bridge's concrete support structure.
But go back 1916, and it would have been bustling destination for commuters.
Inside, most of the original feature remain intact, serving as an appropriate backdrop for the model railroad club that has resided there for 82 years. Subway tile, the original ticket counter and baggage storage -- it's all still there.
