Evers relaxes some Safer at Home business restrictions

Dog groomers, boat and kayak rental services, engine repair shops and other nonessential businesses offering curbside service can reopen under a new order that Gov. Tony Evers announced this afternoon. Businesses will be able to resume delivery and curbside pick-up and drop-off under his Emergency Order #34, which Evers described as a "turning of the dial" on Wisconsin's Safer at Home order.

Car washes will also be allowed to reopen under the order, which goes into effect on Wednesday. All businesses will be required to provide payment options online or over the phone and take proper disinfecting precautions.

"Our Safer at Home order and Emergency Order #34 mean that every business across our state can do things like deliveries, mailings, curbside pick-up and drop-off services," Evers wrote in a tweet.

“This order means that every business across our state can do things like deliveries, mailings, curbside pick-up and drop-off, and it’s an important step in making sure that while folks are staying safer at home, they can also continue to support small businesses," he added.

Earlier this month, Evers extended Wisconsin's stay-at-home order until May 26, while easing restrictions on golf courses, art supply shops and a few other businesses.
