Every July, Great Lakes Distillery teams up with Purple Door Ice Cream for their Adult Ice Cream Social, featuring boozy ice cream, boozy toppings and boozy craft cocktails (did we mention this was an adult ice cream social?). This year's social on Wednesday, July 24, will feature a cinematic twist: It'll be themed after the cult Coen Brothers classic "The Big Lebowski" and will feature the debut of Purple Door's White Russian ice cream made with Good Land Coffee Liqueur.
In addition to boozy ice cream sundaes, there will be yard games including, in the spirit of Lebowski, yard bowling. "You will also be able to challenge The Dude to a game of giant Connect 4 for the chance to win a prize," the organizers wrote on the event's Facebook page. Guests are invited to "wear their robes, dress as their favorite character and bring their rugs." Presumably there will be no Eagles on the playlist.
The Milwaukee Fire Department will be at the event as well, and portions from the proceeds will benefit the department's Operation Warm, which provides MPS students with winter coats.
