This week on “Urban Spelunking,” we've got a special guest who is truly an expert in historic architecture.
Jeremy Ebersole is the executive director of Milwaukee Preservation Alliance, a nonprofit that has overseen the restoration of historic Milwaukee buildings for decades. While he’s relatively new to the city, at least compared with some of the structures he’s helped save, he wasted no time becoming steeped in the city’s architectural past.
In this interview, he shares the unique challenges the organization faced when restoring Old Main at the Milwaukee Soldiers Home — arguably the highest profile, most complicated project of his time in Milwaukee so far. He also shares the MPA’s vision, other projects it’s spearheading and the difficult realities of this type of work.
