In all the years I've been doing these mixes for Sound Travels...surprisingly, the spring of 2018 has turned out my first reggaeton mixtape. With this, I think it's about to be the summer of reggaeton.
While I think it's in my cards to do a "roots of reggaeton" mix someday, I had turned up so many strong, new tunes that my hand was forced. Enjoy this (mostly) new reggaeton, funketon and Latin trap mix that's fresh for summer.
One of the things that kept me from doing a mix like this was trying to figure out where to begin. So, determined to make one happen, I really just started listening to all the newest stuff available and put all the songs I could fit into this mix. A lot of big names are here, like J. Balvin, Nicky Jam and a few lesser-known artists as well. I also wanted to share some of the reggaeton-influenced Brazilian baile funk that's out there too.
