This year was a cold one for Milwaukee, full of un-summer-y cool days and a spring that had a bite almost as bad as the winter which, was so cold we had a whole new thing happen; a polar vortex. In our faux ice age I had to plant a seed somewhat warmer and that's the plot of last weekend's Sound Travels and thusly a Tropikal Vortex Mixtape was born. Full of fresh Latin alternative and indie sounds from the Caribbean, South and Central America with Middle Eastern and African rhythms at the fringe plus a healthy dose of funky remixes and tropical heat.
