Danger Mouse aka Brian Burton is on track to become the first super producer of the 21st century, and it all began with a mash-up record called "The Grey Album." The mash-up album combined the lyrics of Jay-Z and the music of The Beatles and it led to a huge controversy on the interpretation of modern day copyright laws and fair use. Following that mash-up album, Danger Mouse went on to form the super duo Gnarls Barkely with Cee- Lo Green to working with Beck, The Black Keys, Sparklehorse, MF Doom, Gorillaz, James Mercer from The Shins and countless others. Most recently, he is currently producing the forthcoming U2 album.
His latest project "Rome", which he is working with the world renowned Italian composer Daniele Luppi, is an album that reinterprets the classic Italian film score. The music on "Rome" is inspired by the amazing music of composer Ennio Morricone, who is best know for scoring music for classic spaghetti westerns such as "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly."
The album "Rome" as been a work in progress for nearly 5 years. Danger Mouse and Daniele Luppi recruited the actual musicians who worked on films like "The Good, The Bad, The Ugly" as well as guest vocalists Jack White of The White Stripes and Norah Jones.
