If you are a real fan of hip hop, you would know how influential and essential DJ Kool Herc was to the music. Kool Herc is one of the main pioneers Hip Hop. He is known as the father of Hip Hop and he was the mastermind behind the creation of the 'breakbeat', which is one of the primary sonic foundations of hip hop.
Now the man, that brought the world the beauty of hip hop, needs your help. DJ Kool Herc is suffering from an undisclosed medical condition and is seriously ill. Due to the lack of health insurance, like many in this country, can't afford the necessary treatment to get better. Kool Herc's family l aunch a campaign to help raise the funds to get the proper treatment for this music legend.
To bring more awareness to this situation, King Britt and his label/project Saturn Never Sleeps recently released a free downloadable compilation dedicated to the recovery of DJ Kool Herc. The name of compilation is "We Love Kool Herc" (photo credit: Getty)
