James Vincent McMorrow's album "Early In The Morning" is definitely going in my 'Best of 2011' list. The album is full of well-crafted folk songs with soulful undertones. For some time, I been wondering if someone was to give one of his songs the remix treatment, what would it sound like.
Then I came across a dubstep remix of his song "We Don't Eat" produced by Montreal duo Adventure Club, who happens to be good friends with James Vincent McMorrow. I was initially skeptical of a dubstep remix featuring McMorrow's delicate voice, but in my opinion, it turned out pretty good. The only thing is that I wish they incorporated more of his lyrics from the original song into the remix. Listen and download it for yourself, and let me know what you think. Mr. McMorrow said this about the remix on his Facebook Page:
"Adventure Club have taken my song & turned it into something completely new, & i love it. I know the prospect of remixes can terrify some people, but what would be the point of me makin these things if i couldn't give them over 2 others once they were finished 2 see what they'd do with them. That's the beauty of music isn't it, subjective."
