No artist knows how to play the Hammond organ like the legendary Booker T Jones. His music was one of the signature sounds of classic southern soul. His best known song "Green Onions" has been covered many times and was Rolling Stone magazine No. 183 song in their 500 greatest songs of all time.
This three-time Grammy winner and Rock N Roll Hall Of Famer is set to drop a new album entitled "The Road To Memphis" produced by The Roots Questlove on May 10, 2011 on Anti Records. The album was recorded by Gabriel Roth, who is the producer and co-founder of Daptone Records. The album features guests such as Matt Berninger from The National, Sharon Jones, Jim James from My Morning Jacket, Lou Reed and the legendary guitarist Dennis Coffey. The album surely will be an instant classic and help continue the musical legacy and genius of Booker T.
