Preview of Washington Bark Day/Neighborhood Project Week 8

Calling all dog lovers! Well, even if you're not a dog lover, you can still check out the all day event happening in historic, Washington Park

ROMP, Residents for Off-Leash Milwaukee Parks and Friends of MADACC, Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission, are gearing up for the 2011 Washington Bark Day. Bark Day is all about fundraising for local non-profit organizations in Milwaukee that are related to dogs and parks. The event also promotes responsible guardianship and educates the public about animal issues such as pet overpopulation and dog fighting.

There will be plenty of games, vendor booths, food, contests, raffles, demos, agility/lure courses, and a 1-mile dog walk around the park's lagoon.

Washington Bark Day will take place on Saturday, September 17th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 45th and Washington Blvd., in the heart of Washington Park. The 1k dog walk starts at 10:30 a.m.
