English Language Partners is located in Gethsemane Lutheran Church on Milwaukee's South Side. Volunteers provide English Language support in written English, conversational English, and English literacy. Additionally, ELP is hoping to develop support in academic writing (for college, etc). ELP uses the Brazilian educator and theorist Paolo Freire's practices (see: The Pedagogy of the Oppressed) as a model for their tutoring program.
