Bridging The Gap Learning Center/Community Stories Summer 2012

If you drive near the corner of State and North 17 th Street, it’s impossible to miss a particular green space. This green space is not a park, but rather a spot for community members to come learn the game of golf. Where else can you find a quality turf to golf on within downtown Milwaukee?

The Bridging the Gap Learning Facility provides golf programs for not only youth, but for parents as well. The programconsists of five one-hour lessons. The lessons cover everything from the basics of golf, including techniques, rules and etiquette to life skills and valuable life lessons. The center features a state-of-the-art putting green, new hitting mats, turf, netting, and programming for all.

First Tee focuses on ‘9 Core Values’ throughout the program. Those values include respect, sportsmanship, perseverance, judgment, honesty, courtesy, integrity, confidence, and responsibility.
