It has been 6 year since we heard a new album from UK singer/songwriter Beth Orton. Orton returns with new album on October 2 called Sugaring Season. It was recorded in Portland and produced by Tucker Martine, who has worked with such acts as My Morning Jacket, and The Decemberists. On this forthcoming album, Beth Orthon has moved away from a electronic vibe on her earlier album to a more organic sound.
You can listen to the new song "Magpie" over at Rolling Stone's website. The song was inspired by two mysterious blue jays that seemed to follow Orton.
Beth Orton will be kicking off a fall tour in support of her new album Sugaring Season, and she will be making a stop at Milwaukee's Turner Hall on October 9.
