Kings of Leon have finally let loose the first single from their album Mechanical Bull due out September 24th. It's called "Supersoaker" and it's about how frustrating sentimental girls can be at times, I think. The chorus is pretty poppy, but the verses and bridges do reflect a bit of their southern rock roots. It's easy to get into and will definitely help them fill arenas in the coming year. I don't think I'll ever be fully satisfied until they return to their glorious garage days, but maybe they'll channel that era somewhere within deeper cuts off the new album. Dare to dream, as I always say.
I will say that the seven-year-old within me was pretty entertained by that little neon light show, something that can't be said for most audio "videos." You can grab this track on iTunes, Amazon, or wherever you legally download digital music.
