Being a good dad takes practice. That's why one Milwaukee non-profit is working with first-time fathers to strengthen their parenting skills.
In its Pathway to Responsible Fatherhood program, The Next Door Foundation holds bi-weekly sessions with new dads. Young parents learn about effective communication, example setting, defining manhood and family morals, and building a child's self-esteem.
The men spend eight weeks together, and in addition to becoming better dads, they build a network of support with other first time parents.
