Milwaukee's Florentine Opera Company is marking its 80th season with a lineup of classic Italian productions at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts.
The season kicks off in November with performances of La Traviata, but in just a few weeks, the company will host a season preview at its Riverwest studios.
The Season Sampler takes place on October 4 and 5, and patrons will be able to see and hear highlights from this year's shows, including La Traviata, Julius Caesar, and La Boheme, in an up-close and intimate setting.
New this year, the company is also presenting a series of performances called @ The Center. It's a chance for people to see smaller scale productions in the company's rehearsal space and mingle with performers afterward. Like the Season Sampler, the @ The Center series takes place at its Riverwest studios.
The Florentine Opera Company is the state's oldest professional company, and it has won three Grammy Awards for its recordings.
