Brooklyn's Partisan Records must have a thing for Wisconsin artists. First it was Milwaukee's Field Report. Then it was the duo Sylvan Esso that features Milwaukee-native and former member of Decibully Nick Sanborn. Now the label just inked a deal with the charming Madison folk-pop group Phox.
With the signing to Partisan Records, comes the announcement of Phox's debut album. The album, produced by Brian Joseph at April Base Studios in Eau Claire, will be release sometime in June. According to the press release, the album is a school of simple folk-pop songs swimming amidst a chaotic eddy of rock, psychedelia, and soul.
Phox has a busy touring schedule before their album release, which includes dates at SXSW, Sasquatch, Newport Folk Festival and touring with Typhoon, and Laura Mvula.
Phox is also giving away their Live At iTunes Festvial London EP for free in exchange for an email address.
