Girl Develop It helps women break into IT

A local group is helping young women get the skills they need to find careers in technology.

Girl Develop It offers classes in CSS and HTML specifically geared toward women, who are often outnumbered by men in their college classrooms.  They learn from certified instructors and are able to connect with each other, building a professional network to jumpstart their careers.

The Milwaukee chapter was formed in 2013 by local web developer Erin Wilbur.  Classes are offered every Wednesday, and each four-week series costs only $60.  Scholarships are also available to those with financial need, Wilbur said.
