Are you passionate about making handmade, natural skin car products? Maybe you're an artist that makes screen prints and handmade greeting cards. How do you get your products out to potential customers if you can't afford to rent your own store? Local artist Cortney Heimerl is working to help small businesses in Milwaukee get the face-to-face time with customers they need to grow their businesses.
The first Sunday of each month this summer, Heimerl organizes a Maker Market in the parking lot of Colectivo in Bay View. "Maker's Market is an incubator for small businesses," says Heimerl. "You can see families supporting their children, you can see business grow and change."
The Bay View Maker Market isn't the only market supporting local artists. Heimerl hosts a blog that collects information on all local events, and she is dedicated to helping artists connect with organizers of other markets.
