They've had enough. And they're doing something about it.
After witnessing a shooting outside their classroom a few weeks ago, a group of seventh and eighth grade students from Westside Academy II hosted a community forum and discussion aimed at reducing violent crime in Milwaukee.
Attendees discussed their own experiences and proposed possible solutions to the city's most recent spike in gun violence.
More than 100 community members of all ages attended the forum.
The event was hosted in partnership with the organization Serve2Unite, a non-profit working to mobilize young students toward leadership and volunteerism.
