Early Ed programs give kids a head start

For a city to be successful, you need strong neighborhoods. For 70 years, the Neighborhood House of Milwaukee on near the west side has provided a variety of programs aimed at creating a healthy community of families, businesses and neighbors.  "All of our programs are infused with the philosophy of cultivating the whole person," says Neighborhood House Executive Director, Jeff Martinka. "We have legacies of families sending kids here, from 6 months old to high school. Our programs have a heavy focus on character building and making healthy choices."

The Early Education programs at Neighborhood House provide tools to make sure the entire family succeeds. "77% of the boys in our youth programs are boys of color," says Director of Development, Claire Van Fossen. "We work to help with those barriers specifically related to education and health."
