The Milwaukee Public Museum is offering free admission during the weekend of Jan. 24 and 25, thanks to a one-time grant from the Greater Milwaukee Foundation.
Attendees will be treated as "members for a day" and will be able to visit all of the museum’s permanent exhibits and Daniel M. Soref National Geographic Dome Theater & Planetarium. Visitors will also be eligible for discounts on food, beverages and gifts.
No reservations or proof of residence will be required.
This month's gift from the Greater Milwaukee Foundation is the first in a series of monthly donations to the community to celebrate the foundation's 100th anniversary.
“Generations of charitable and generous individuals, families and organizations have partnered with the Greater Milwaukee Foundation throughout our first century to strengthen our community and enhance the quality of life for all who live here,” said Ellen M. Gilligan, president and CEO of the Greater Milwaukee Foundation, in a press release.
"How better to honor our donors’ enduring generosity than by offering everyone an opportunity to come together to celebrate our region’s treasures and truly advance the values of community and philanthropy as we enter our next 100 years,” Gilligan added.
The GMF will be announcing its monthly gifts on its website and on the FOX6 talk show, Real Milwaukee.
