A local third grade student is asking for your vote as she competes for a $10,000 grand prize to plant trees at her school playground.
Annabelle Tornio, 9, was selected as one of ten finalists in the Scottie's Trees Rock challenge. The paper products company sought video entries from students across the country asking them to explain why they think "trees rock."

If her video gets enough votes, Edgewood Elementary School in Greenfield will receive a $10,000 check to beautify its south playground. Principal Sue Sterner said the money would be used to purchase trees and picnic tables, creating a shady area for students to enjoy.
