This couldn't have been more perfectly timed. After releasing what could be one of the best albums of 2015, Kendrick Lamar will be a Summerfest headling artist. Kendrick Lamar will be performing the Marcus Amphitheater on July 1!
Kendrick is one of the rare artists who has achieved critical and commercial success while earning the respect and support of those who inspired him. The huge success of his first major label album, good kid, m.A.A.d city (2012), positioned Kendrick as an exceptional storyteller and landed him seven Grammy nominations, including Best New Artist and Album of the Year. Proving his ability to create compelling concept albums, his latest release, To Pimp a Butterfly, has been met with critical acclaim and includes tracks featuring Snoop Dogg, Bilal, Thundercat and George Clinton. Joining the tour is ScHoolboy Q, chart-topping hip hop artist and longtime collaborator with Kendrick Lamar.
Kendrick Lamar also broke the record for album stream on Spotify earning almost $900,000 in royalties.
Fellow labelmate Schoolboy Q will be opening for Kendrick. Tickets will go on sale this Friday, April 10 at 10am.
