When DC native Wale created an album inspired by the TV show Sienfeld called 'The Album about Nothing,' it piqued my interest.
One track from the album, “The Need To Know," featuring Kendrick Lamar’s label mate SZA, really got my attention. On the track, Wale’s uses a scene from a classic Sienfeld episode to to preface the song’s subject of Wale’s complicated relationships.
This subject is reinforced by the hook sung by SZA, which references lyrics from Musiq Soulchild’s song “Just Friends” from 2000. Wale returns to true form on this track and it is why it is Rhythm Lab Radio’s song of the week.
