Today is Milwaukee Day and to celebrate Milwaukee's own Maritime releases a new song and video celebrating this unique city by the lake. Simply named "Milwaukee," Maritime pays a lovely tribute to our city. The video debuted yesterday at the Bucks #seethefuture event.

The video is especially clever. In the video, there is a wall full of Milwaukee theme items moving throughout the city making stops at various place like the Milwaukee Art Museum, Lakefront Brewery and even 88Nine studios. Maritime have spent the past year working on and off in the studio as they complete recording for their new album, due out on Dangerbird Records in the fall of 2015. The forthcoming full-length is the follow up to their well-received 2011 LP Human Hearts. "Maritime's musical development", wrote Pitchfork at the time, "has become a compelling narrative of its own, each subsequent record in many ways both improving upon and elucidating the last." While the AV Club lauded the record as "a bold, assured effort that finds Maritime definitively stepping out from the shadows of the past and into a new light."
