The Avett Brothers to headline Marcus Amphitheater during Summerfest on July 4

Summerfest finally announced the last Marcus Amphitheater headlining artist.  The Avett Brothers will take the stage on July 4 along with Brandi Carlile and Warren Haynes.

The Avett Brothers’ dynamic music has roots in traditional folk and bluegrass but still manages to harness the no-boundaries attitude of true rock & roll.  Their songs are honest: just chords with real voices singing real melodies. But, the heart and the energy with which they are sung, is really why people are talking, and why so many sing along.

They are a reality in a world of entertainment built with smoke and mirrors, and when they play, the common man can break the mirrors and blow the smoke away, so that all that’s left behind is the unwavering beauty of the songs. That’s the commotion, that’s the celebration, and wherever The Avett Brothers are tonight, that’s what you’ll find.

Brandi Carlile’s music splits the difference between pop/rock and folksy Americana, driven by emotionally powerful songwriting and skilful acoustic guitar work.  Her latest album, “The Firewatcher’s Daughter,” was released in March 2015 to critical acclaim.

Warren Haynes is recognized as a cornerstone of the American music landscape and revered as one of the finest guitar players in the world due to his prolific career as part of three of the greatest live groups in rock history -  Allman Brothers Band, Gov’t Mule and, most famously, The Grateful Dead.

Tickets for the show will go on sale Friday, June 12 at 10am. You can purchase tickets via Summerfest's website.
