Milwaukee’s concert scene has a lot going on, so we look at the shows coming up to find the ones you’ll look back on and be glad you went. Then we add them to our weekly Milwaukee Concert Picks.
When we were looking around for something cool to do at the end of our Spring Membership Drive, it turned out we didn’t need to look very far. In fact, we just had to pick up the very seasonally appropriate packets of seeds we’re giving every single person who donates before the drive wraps up this Friday.
Right there, on those packets of seeds, is the name Schoepp — as in Trapper Schoepp, who in addition to being an agricultural titan is also quite the musician.
Putting our heads together, we came up with an outside-the-box plan to celebrate another successful drive, which it will be because we’re going to finish strong over the next couple days with all kinds of generous support from wonderful people (right?). And we determined the best way to thank those wonderful people was to put cool stuff in their hands as soon as humanly possible.
That’s why, for the first time in a long time, we will host a Membership Drive Gear Pick-Up Party this Saturday at Radio Milwaukee HQ featuring Trapper Schoepp (and his seed packets).
Not far enough outside the box? Well, we didn’t stop at one great Milwaukee artist. We also invited the golden-voiced *aya to join us, and she happily accepted. Then, because we wanted to get so far outside the box that we couldn’t even see it anymore, we decided to start this party at noon.
“A concert? During daylight hours? Why, they’ve gone mad!”
Look, everyone around Radio Milwaukee gets a little nutso during our Membership Drives, and we decided the best thing to do was lean into it. So here’s the full rundown for you.
This Saturday, the doors open at noon to our Membership Drive Gear Pick-Up Party. If you donated during the drive, our helpful staff will be on hand to put your well-earned gear in your hands. If you want some of that gear but didn’t donate yet, that same staff will help you become a member right there so you can score a shirt or sweatshirt or tote bag, plus a packet of seeds from Trapper.
Two of our very own DJs, Kenny Perez and Anthony Foster, will provide the soundtrack during the early stages of the party to set the stage for Trapper Schoepp and *aya, who will take over starting at 2 p.m. On top of that, throughout the event, you’ll have access to all the goodness that Discourse can whip up in their cafe.
Your task is simple: Become a member, pick up your gear Saturday starting at noon, celebrate with us. See you then.
