American Celebration
American Celebration
When: Saturday, May 9, 2026 | Doors open at 6:30 pm | Concert at 7:00 pm
Where: Pius XI High School, 135 N 76th St, Milwaukee, WI 53213
We're closing out our 41st Season in style — with a night of music that's as boldly, joyfully American as it gets.
"With our country preparing to celebrate its 250th anniversary, it only seemed fitting to mark the occasion in style," says Music Director Dr. Mark A. Taylor. "Our brass band origins might be British, but we've created something uniquely American that we can call our own."
You'll hear that Saturday night. The evening opens with Copland's "Fanfare for the Common Man" and moves through a celebration of popular American music — Glenn Miller, Elvis, a centennial tribute to the Harlem Globetrotters, and original work by our resident composer David Grace — before closing with one of the great works of American film: Gershwin's "An American in Paris."
Tickets are $15 general, $12 for seniors, and always free for anyone under 18. Group rates are available. Grab your seats at mfbrass.org — we'd love to celebrate with you.
