Korea Day

The event will kick off at 4:30 p.m. with a variety of activities and cultural programs, such as K-Pop dance performances by KOMET Dance Crew and Girly Pop Dance Crew, and a Taekwondo demonstration by Marquette University Taekwondo Club & J.K.Lee Black Belt Academy-Lake Country. At 6:00 p.m., there will be Korean food tastings and participatory activities such as traditional Korean games and Hangul writing. Admission for this portion is free.

The highlight of the event, the 2026 Korea Day Concert, will begin at 7:30 p.m. The UWM Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Prof. Jun Kim, will start with Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake Suite. This year’s guest soloist is violinist JinJoo Cho, 1st Prize Winner of the International Violin Competition of Indianapolis, in addition to the Montréal, Buenos Aires, Schoenfeld, and Stulberg International Competitions. She will perform Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E minor and Saint-Saëns’ Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso. The concert is a ticketed event.
