Milwaukee will join an international movement on August 1 with a pop-up dance party designed by women, for women.

Revel + Release is a dance party series presented by Interwovxn with a new twist on self-care. Building on the success of our first mother's day dance party in May, this party will return for the second event in a series on Aug 1, 6:30 pm - 10 pm at Rivulet in the Third Ward.

Teaming up to curate this event are three Milwaukee women: Interwovxn founders Theresa Kopac and Rebecca Jankowski, as well as local event producer Grace Fuhr.

Revel + Release is more than just a party — it’s a movement. We’re reimagining what it means to care for ourselves—and sometimes that care looks like a sweaty dance floor, a familiar beat, and a moment to exhale. Rest and relaxation matter. So does joy, movement, and release. In a world that often asks us to armor up, we’re choosing something braver: to be seen, to be moved, to be free.

Interwovxn offers community and care for women's well being. Through their monthly podcast, weekly newsletter, and community events they are creating space for conversation and support on women’s health, identity, pleasure, and joy.

This dance party invites women, trans, and nonbinary folks to move, connect and dance in community. The event is for moms, mentors, caregivers, and friends who are overwhelmed by it all, offering rest that looks like joy, dancing, laughter - and being home by 11 pm.

This style of event is taking place in cities from Paris to Berlin to Chicago, and now Milwaukee will be on the map.

The August 1 event will showcase DJ Dori Zori of Radio Milwaukee, offering 80s anthems and high-energy dance music.

Each Revel + Release event spotlights a local organization making an impact in our community. This gathering will continue that tradition with support for A Little Something, A Lot of Love, a nonprofit supporting moms and families through pregnancy loss. Instagram: @alittlesomethingalotoflove
