Today is a special 5 O’Clock Shadow in honor of my wife Carla’s 40th birthday. She’s a longtime ELO fan (who isn’t?) and also a big fan of California singer-songwriter Jason Falkner (Jellyfish, The Grays) who has also produced and/or co-written for Brendan Benson, Eric Matthews, Air, Aimee Mann, Susannah Hoffs and maintained a prolific solo career as well. So, to commemorate her birthday, I’ll be playing Jason’s cover of ELO’s “Do Ya”, which in a way was already a cover as Jeff Lynne first recorded the song with his band The Move. Enjoy!
